Bernarda Peláez is the founder and Creative Director of YAPA, a luxury knitwear brand born from a desire to bring the extraordinary craftsmanship of Bolivia to the world. Born and raised in Bolivia and now based in New York City, she founded YAPA to bridge two worlds: the rich textile traditions of the Andes and a contemporary, global perspective on design.

Growing up surrounded by the beauty of the Bolivian landscape and the country’s remarkable artisanal heritage, Bernarda developed a deep appreciation for craftsmanship, natural materials, and the stories woven into every handmade piece. After moving to New York, she recognized an opportunity to reimagine these traditions through timeless silhouettes and modern design, creating a brand that honors its origins while speaking to an international audience.
