The thread starts deep at the body and lightens toward the wings. It is the only motif we work in a gradient, and the reason the dragonfly looks like it is still moving.
The linen is pre-washed before it is cut and sewn, so it arrives with a gentle crinkle and a relaxed drape. It feels soft in the hand from the first use, and it looks right even when it has not been ironed.
Each napkin is cut, sewn and embroidered in Italy, with a tone-on-tone hem that leaves the dragonfly alone. Put them out for a weekday breakfast, or for a lunch outdoors in the months when the real ones are around.
